The election for Financial Secretary of Unifor Local 4270 was held on March 6th.  The results were:

Daniel Billard                    47 votes (43.1%)

Clement Pombeiro           21 votes (19.3%)

Mubarak Abdulkadir        21 votes (19.3%)

Richard Raftus                 20 votes (18.3%)

109 votes cast, no spoiled ballots.

Article 15B (5) b) of the Unifor Constitution requires that a candidate receive a majority of votes cast.  As 109 votes were cast this would require the successful candidate to receive 55 votes.  As that did not happen, in compliance with Unifor election procedures the candidate with the least votes is removed from the ballot and another election is held.  Another election will be held as soon as possible with the date and time to be posted.
